Frequently asked questions
Do Karadon Kennels carry out DNA testing?
Yes, absolutely, 100%.
At Karadon Kennels, every breeding dog is fully DNA tested before being part of our program. We complete DNA profiling (identity and parentage verification) as well as all breed relevant genetic health tests for both Cavaliers and Poodles. This ensures our Cavoodle puppies are not affected by preventable inherited conditions.
Our testing includes conditions such as:
-
Episodic Falling and Curly Coat/Dry Eye (Cavalier)
-
PRA‑prcd, DM, vWD1, and GM2 (Poodle)
We only breed from dogs that meet our strict health standards, giving every puppy the strongest possible start in life.
How do I know if you are a reputable breeder?
A reputable breeder is transparent, knowledgeable, and prioritises the wellbeing of their dogs. They welcome visits (age appropriate), allow you to meet the puppy’s parents, show you their environment (if they say no, do NOT go near them), provide health records, and ask you questions to ensure their puppies go to good homes. They never pressure you into buying and are happy to answer anything you want to know. Check out my google reviews!
What comes with my puppy when I take them home?
Yes, each family receives a carefully curated puppy pack filled with practical resources, settling in tips, and items chosen to support your puppy’s comfort and routine from day one, giving you everything you need to begin your journey smoothly.

How the process works when you want a puppy from Karadon Kennels
1. You get in touch to let us know you’re interested in a puppy. We’ll chat about what you’re looking for, your lifestyle, and which breed or temperament will suit you best. This helps ensure every puppy is matched to the right home.
2. Phone consultation. You’re welcome to meet us, ask questions, and learn more about how our puppies are raised. If you’re not local, we can talk by phone or video. Transparency is important, so you’ll always be able to see where and how the puppies are raised.
3. Join the waiting list. If we’re a good fit for each other, you can join our waiting list. This secures your place for an upcoming litter. We’ll keep you updated on planned matings, due dates, and expected colours/temperaments.
4. Litter Announcement. When puppies arrive, we contact everyone on the list. You’ll receive photos, updates, and information about each puppy as they grow. This is when you can confirm your interest in a specific pup.
5. Deposit to secure your puppy. A non refundable deposit is required to hold your chosen puppy. This ensures your puppy is reserved for you and no one else.
6. Regular updates as your puppy grows. From birth to go home day, you’ll receive:
-
Photos and videos
-
Milestone updates
-
Information about early socialisation, feeding, and development
This helps you bond with your puppy long before they come home.

How the process works when you want a puppy from Karadon Kennels
What does ENS mean and why do you use it?
Research and breeder experience suggest that puppies exposed to ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) may show measurable long term benefits, including:
-
Enhanced brain development and stronger neurological pathways
-
Improved cardiovascular and immune function
-
Better stress tolerance and recovery from startling or novel situations
-
Greater adaptability in adulthood
-
More stable temperaments and confidence in new environments
These advantages stem from the way early mild stress helps the body learn to regulate itself more effectively later in life.
Do you stand behind your puppy?
Absolutely, One Thousand Percent. These puppies have been my pride and joy for the past eight weeks. They’ve grown so much in such a short time, and while it’s always bittersweet to see them head off to their new homes, they are truly ready. I stand behind every single one of them, and I’ll always be here for you, whether you need help, have questions, or just want to share an update.
